Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR) – Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology

Through a competitive award process, SBIR enables small businesses to explore their technological potential and provides the incentive to profit from commercialization. Including qualified small businesses in the nation’s research and development arena stimulates high-tech innovation.

About

Managed by the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology division, the program serves all DHS components through a variety of initiatives. The Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office has its own SBIR program office concentrating on their specific needs while collaborating with Science and Technology on communication, new ideas, and coordinated timelines so that all DHS SBIR subjects are released together annually. This public-private partnership is one of the largest in the country.
