About
The Microbusiness and Asset Development Program offers a wide range of services tailored to help entrepreneurs and small business owners. Catholic Charities offers microloans up to $10,000, technical assistance, continuous learning, and networking. In addition, Catholic Charities provides business consulting that covers assistance registering the business entities, obtaining EIN, permits and licenses with the city and any other agency.
The Microbusiness Training Program consists of 16 classes over 8 weeks. Daytime and evening classes are offered at least 4 times a year in both Spanish and English. Coursework includes: Creating Business and Marketing Plans, Financial Projections, Branding and Messaging, Target Markets, Taxes/Accounting, Insurance, and Human Resources.
The Cleaning Academy consists of 8 classes over 8 weeks. Classes are offered in both English and Spanish throughout the year. Coursework includes: Best Practices and Industry Standards; Health and Safety Regulations; Floor and Carpet Cleaning; Chemical Labels, Safety and Exposure; Bathroom Maintenance; and more.
Financial Education Classes consist of 9 classes over 9 weeks. Coursework includes: Budgeting, SMART Goals, Debt Management, Credit Scores, Cash Flow, Banking and Savings, Predatory Lending, and Insurance.
Basic Computer Classes consist of 6 classes over 6 weeks. Coursework includes: Functions of a Computer, Microsoft Office, Web Browsing/Internet, Outlook, Social Media, and QuickBooks.
