Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology (CAET) – Metropolitan Community College – Fort Omaha

Metropolitan Community College is a comprehensive, full-service public community college supported by the taxpayers of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties.

About

Emerging technologies and start-ups are creating new jobs and transforming current ones every day. With industries, technologies and job requirements evolving at breakneck speeds, MCC is co-locating together with industry to test new technologies, develop new products and continually train and re-train our workforce.

Enter MCC’s Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology (CAET), a regional hub for education, innovation and economic growth — a place where business and education thrive together. Beyond a simple building, this will be our community’s advanced technology center — a flexible learning center that attracts, spawns and grows Omaha businesses, training students through state-of-the-art technologies and bringing learning to life through real-world research and development.

Together, MCC faculty, students and industry partners will learn, test, apply and even develop new technologies. Both a driver and a consumer of new technologies, CAET will be a collaborative working and learning space that really earns the label “synergistic.” Corporate exhibit space, entrepreneurial production labs and economic development partners will be hallmarks of the new center. Students will not only build skills with industry-standard technologies, they will work with emerging technologies, moving area industries forward.
