Dawson Area Development

Dawson Area Development has a current focus of addressing workforce development issues through awareness, career and college readiness, training and facilitating connections between employers, schools and applicants. DAD has recently opened The Central Nebraska Training, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) Center which houses a collaborative co-working space, training/meeting area and a makerspace that doubles as a mobile STEM lab for seven local school districts.

About

Dawson County Area Economic Development Council (Dawson Area Development-DAD) exists to promote a spirit of unity and cooperation in order to plan, organize, and effect the future development of the Dawson County area. The Council shall endeavor to diversify the local economy, foster a favorable business climate, help existing businesses grow and expand, retain existing jobs, create new jobs and career opportunities, and develop the area’s resources to their full potential.

The Training, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (TIE) Center provides a maker space, as well as a lounge area. Maker spaces are used as a communal place for people of like-minded interests to meet and collaborate on different projects and innovations. In a maker space, someone can enter with an idea and leave with a completed product. 

The TIE Center offers a variety of amenities, including 24/7 access, Wifi, 3D printers, a laser printer, a Silhouette Cameo vinyl cutter, and much more.
