The Innovation Challenge invites participants to rethink and enhance existing products or services by strategically removing an element. This exercise, inspired by the concept of “subtractive innovation,” encourages creativity and critical thinking by focusing on what can be eliminated to improve functionality, user experience, or cost efficiency. Participants are tasked with identifying components that add complexity or redundancy and envisioning a streamlined version that maintains or enhances core value. This challenge not only fosters innovative problem-solving but also highlights the power of simplicity in driving effective solutions.
This challenge is open to all University of Nebraska – Lincoln students and will be held from 11 am-7 pm on Friday, September 13, 2024.
